It is my belief that if students can't articulate why what we teach is important, then we have not explored out content with them as deeply as we should. In this session, we will discuss strategies to encourage higher DOK thinking and questioning in our classrooms. I will share some of the ideas that have worked for me, and hopefully that will lead to a brainstorming of ideas that can work in your classrooms. This session is primarily focused on music educators, but the principles can apply to anyone.
